Kids Watching Conferences, Mulching Trees

I loved conference! It has been awhile since I've been able to attentively listen to all 4 sessions. We all gathered in our loft and watched conference via internet. We used a variety of tactics, but the kids stayed with us, in person anyway, for all 8 hours. Megan slept during the afternoon sessions, that helped.

Fall is creeping in slowly for us, but we have been able to work outside in the yard a little more lately. A couple weekends ago we tackled the Mesquite tree out front. It grows like crazy! The neighborhood maintenance people are constantly trimming trees throughout the common areas. Of course they come in with huge electric trimmers and mulching machines. So, on this particular day we set the kids out front with their bikes. They invited the neighbor kids out to play. Joseph sawed off the unwanted branches and I sat in a chair chopping the branches up into smaller sections. The kids took pleasure in dragging the thick branches to the back gate. Joseph uses those for cooking over. Joseph picked up my "mulching" efforts" and filled the garbage can. Now the tree looks a little better, but will need more trimming in a month or so.

Well, that's it. A peek into our everyday lives.
