We have had an awesome summer. I have my first summer in optometry school off, so we decided to use it to visit family. For the first half of the summer, we stayed with Rachelle's parents in Highland, Utah. Then we drove to Connecticut where we spent the last half of our summer. We are really glad that we decided to make this long and crazy trip.
Some highlights include attending the first Gardner family reunion, sheetrocking and mudding my in-law's new playhouse, finding summer work, Kurtis learning to walk, seeing lots of family and friends in Utah, visiting Austin's family in Omaha, visiting Kansas City for the first time since 2008, visiting one of my dad's sisters in Pittsburg, attending a national optometry conference in Boston, attending the Hill Cumora pageant, visiting Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, seeing the Joseph Smith birthplace church site, and going to the Rhode Island beach. We are world travelers.
We leave for Houston this week, and we are pleased after a very full summer. On our way down, we will get to stop by the Felsted's in Georgia, another place I have lived and have not visited in a very long time. Optometry school starts back up on August 22. I'm not sure if I'm ready.
